Founder, Sam Preis, grew up in small-town Connecticut, USA. Skilled in the arts, she pursued music and the arts in school and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, graduating with a Bachelors of Music degree in 2010 and specializing in Songwriting. In the following years, her passion for history and culture led her to pursue a Masters degree in Archaeology at University College London (UCL) specializing in Cultural Heritage Studies. Samantha launched House of Sam in 2018 as a record label via Patreon, later merging the label with a full-scale arts an culture publication.

 

Together with partner, Thiago Mendes (environmentalist and data scientist), the two nomadic culture buffs travel the world one city at a time, promoting culture through creative media, in hopes of illuminating the world's most valuable cultural and creative assets.
